At Print.com, we understand that every project is unique. Paper types for printing flyers

In our ordering app, you will find 75 paper types to print your flyers with. From our standard satin mc and silk mc grades to specials such as Rebello and Sirio metallic materials. Choose a weight under 250 g/m2 if you want a flexible light flyer. Go for 250 g/m2 or above for a sturdy flyer. Feast your eyes and choose the material that best suits your project.

Satin-finished mc versus silk mc

Satin-finished mc and silk mc are often chosen and are both coated papers. Coated papers are smooth papers, which makes them easier to print on. The ink remains on the paper, making the colours pop out. This does cause the ink to be scratched off faster, but this can be solved by having your paper laminated.

Unsure of the difference between satin-finished mc and silk mc? Satin-finished MC has a smooth and glossy surface. This is often used for advertising material and glossy magazines. Silk MC has a silk-matt surface and therefore has a softer look. Both materials are often used to print flyers.

Eco/recycled flyer paper

Besides the most commonly chosen papers for printing flyers (satin mc, silk mc etc.), you will also find more special materials in our ordering app. For example, we offer six different eco or recycled paper types:

• Rebello
• BalancePure®
• Kraft muskat brown

Go for RecyStar® Nature or BalancePure® if you want an uncoated paper that is soft and smooth to the touch. Looking for a natural look? You have the option of PaperWise® Earth Pact Natural, Rebello or Kraft Muskat Brown. The natural fibres of this paper are very visible. All our eco/recycled papers for flyer printing are writable.

Special materials to print flyers

In our ordering app, you will find various ‘print specials’ to print your flyers. These include Constellation Snow (linen press), Kingboard white (refined cardboard) or Gmund Cotton.

Constellation Snow has a subtle line relief and gives your flyer a classic, chic look. Kingboard white (refined cardboard) has a pleasant cotton-like paper feel and a robust look. This paper has a white colour, which ensures excellent colour reproduction. Gmund Cotton is a firm wood-free uncoated paper with a light texture. This paper is made of 100% cotton and is therefore super soft.

Refining to give flyers that something extra

When you create a flyer, you have the choice of adding a refinement. By adding a refinement to a flyer, you make your printed material more attractive or functional. We distinguish between all-over refinements and spot refinements.

All-over finishing

An all-over finish is a finish that you use over an entire flyer. In our ordering app, you will find the following all-over finishes:

• Glossy laminate
• Matt laminate
• Scratch-Resistant Matt Laminate
• Soft touch matt laminate
• Linen laminate

Gloss and matt laminates ensure that the text on your flyer is legible. We apply the laminate, a foil, by heating the material. This creates extra bulk. This gives the printed material a luxurious appearance. Moisture and dirt can easily be removed from the laminate.

You will find different matt laminates in our order app: scratch-resistant and soft-touch. Scratch-proof matt laminate provides extra strength and protects your flyer from damage by sharp objects. Soft touch matt laminate is chic and velvety.

Finally, we offer a linen laminate. The distinctive linen texture of this finish gives your flyer a classic look and also has a protective function.

Spot refinements to print on your flyers

Spot finishes are finishes you apply to a specific part of your flyer. Choose whether to apply it to the front and/or the back. In our ordering app, you will find eight different spot finishes to print on your flyers:

• High-gloss UV varnish
• Extra glossy spot UV varnish
• Foil print gold
• Foil print silver
• Foil print rose gold
• Foil print copper
• Foil print glitter
• Foil print rainbow

Thickening high-gloss UV varnish spots and extra-thickening high-gloss UV varnish spots both fall under high-gloss UV varnish spots. UV varnish is applied separately to the printed product, creating a powerful effect. High-gloss UV varnish has a strikingly glossy appearance, highlights colours and images and protects against blemishes, discolouration, dirt and moisture.

The colours of foil printing cannot be matched with ordinary ink. This finish adheres best to plain paper such as silk MC. Compared to hot foil, foil printing lies on the paper.
